This fully accredited Gel Polish Starter Course is designed to give beginners the skills and confidence to begin offering professional gel polish services.

Gel polish remains one of the most popular treatments in the nail industry, providing clients with durable colour, high shine finishes and long lasting results.

Through a combination of clear theory and practical training you will learn how to apply gel polish correctly, create professional finishes and remove the product safely without damaging the natural nail.

Training takes place in a small class environment at Melanie Lewendon Academy in Derbyshire, allowing you to learn through demonstrations, guided practical work and personalised feedback.

You will also receive lifetime access to the Melanie Lewendon Academy online learning platform, allowing you to revisit demonstrations and theory whenever you need continued support.

• Professional nail preparation and natural nail safety
• Understanding gel polish systems and product behaviour
• Gel polish application techniques
• Creating classic salon finishes including French application
• Working with colours including red, black, metallic and glitter finishes
• Maintaining gel polish services
• Safe gel polish removal techniques
• Understanding how to protect the natural nail during services

No previous nail qualifications are required

Certification
ABT accredited certification issued once case studies have been successfully completed

Case Studies
Case studies are required after training to demonstrate safe and confident application

Entry Requirements
Minimum age 16

• One full day of practical in person training
• Step by step demonstrations and guided practical work
• Full theory covering anatomy and physiology, health and safety and allergies
• Gel polish product knowledge and science
• Gel polish application techniques including French and classic finishes (red, black, metallic, glitter, french)
• Maintenance and safe removal techniques
• Lifetime access to the Melanie Lewendon Academy online learning platform
• Ongoing tutor support before, during and after your training
